The Polish Society for Biomaterials, in cooperation with the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Krakow, and the Young Scientists Forum of the European Society for Biomaterials, organizes the Polish-Portuguese Symposium on Biomaterials.
The symposium will provide a platform for exchanging experiences, presenting research results, and strengthening collaboration between Polish and Portuguese biomaterials scientists.
Program highlights:
Experts' Panel
Prof. Cristina Barrias: Modular Bottom-up Strategies for Microvascular Network Assembly
Prof. Aneta Zima: New Trends in Bioceramic Materials for Bone Regeneration
Prof. Judite Barbosa: Immunomodulatory Biomaterials as a Bridge Between Inflammation and Tissue Regeneration
Next-Gen Biomaterials: Stories from the Lab
Dr Konrad Kwiecień: Inhalable Dry Powders from Polyanhydride Microparticles as a Weapon Against Pulmonary Infections
Short oral presentations by MSc and PhD students showcasing their latest research results.
MSc and PhD students are invited to submit abstracts (1 per person) until September 17, 2025.
All abstracts will be reviewed, and acceptance notifications will be sent by September 24. Accepted works will be presented during the Next-Gen Biomaterials session and published in the abstract book.
Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited (maximum 40 participants). Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
This symposium continues the series of international events jointly organized by PSB and the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH. Previous editions included the Mini Symposium: Let's Talk International Cooperation in Biomaterials Science (2022) and the Polish-Scandinavian Symposium on Biomaterials (2023). This year, we are delighted to host colleagues from Portugal.
